<image:title>How to take a tincture - How to take your tincture or herbal extract</image:title>
<image:caption>If a dropperful of your herbal formula is recommended it will actually look like this picture! Most droppers will not allow you to get a really full dropper. A dropperful dose should be approximately 2/3 full. If measuring your dosage in drops, a 1 oz bottle will have roughly 30 drops per dropperful. Tinctures may be taken directly on the tongue if tolerated. Take your tincture with a shot of water to minimize any discomfort from flavor or alcohol. One way to minimize the alcohol content is to put your dose in a shot of steaming hot water and allow it to cool to drinking temperature before consuming. You may also add your dose to juice or tea, unless a bitter flavor is part of the desired medicinal action. Tinctures are most effective when taken on an empty or nearly empty stomach, this allows them to be quickly absorbed. If you forget to take it before a meal, no worries! You can still take your dose even after eating. Taking your tincture on a full stomach may ease any discomfort as well. Always shake your tinctures vigorously before dosing to ensure any particulates are incorporated. Some settling or residue at the bottom of your bottle is a normal and natural aspect of herbal extracts. If you have any concerns or questions about taking your herbal formula don’t hesitate to message me!</image:caption>
